Here some information on different aspects of plastering.

 

Internal Works

 

Skimming 

This is were the plaster is applied onto either Plasterboard or Render. Plaster can also be applied to walls that have Plaster already applied. This however requires either PVA or other PVA based product such as Blue Grit.

 

Drylining/plasterboarding

Plasterboarding is were you attach plasterboard to studding and joints using screws. Drylining is where you attach plasterboards to walls using a bonding compound.

After these proccesess it is then ready to be skimmed

 

Damp proofing 

There are a few methods to damp proofing. But this all depends on the method that is best suited to cure your problem.

I do Fibrous Coving and hand run Coving

 

Remendal work 

Patching excisting plaster

 

External Rendering

 

There are many different type of Rendering here is a list of the different finishes

 

K-Rend

This is a specialised textured finish that comes in 20 colours but orders can be placed for different colours if required. See K-Rend website for addition information

 

Pebbledashing

This is were pebble is applied to sand and cement. Theres many different colour pebble. Here is a list of some of peoples favourite colours:

Black and white 
Canterbury Spar
All White
Red and white

I also offer optional colour backing of white as well as normal sand and cement. I use white cement and silacer sand to get a white backing.

 

Stipple finish 

This is were the sand and cement is applied and a brush is used to get a constant pattern. There are different stipples. I will give you a sample pattern so you can decide which one you like best.

 

Smooth Finish/Flat finish

This is when sand and cement is put on and rubbed as flat as possible to give a smooth finish.

 

Tyrolean Render 

This is were you first rub sand and cement flat like smooth/flat finish. Then you apply the tryolean mix this also comes in various colours.

 

Lime

Lime plastering this a breathable finish for both internal and external.
